As you can see "Yeah, what?" Summarizing the above cons, it's safe to say that we think buying the 2023 Ford F-150 would be a good idea. We might prefer to drive a Ram 1500 or sit in a stylish new Chevy Silverado, but when it comes to what makes a truck a truck, the F-150 stands out.
It really comes down to two big-ticket areas: the engine and the technology. First, its smooth and efficient turbocharged V6 "EcoBoost" engines deliver impressive refinement and power that makes anything with a V8 feel dated. In fact, the PowerBoost Hybrid impresses even the naysayers with the kind of power and performance that can only be beaten by the F-150 Lightning Electric Truck that we reviewed separately.
Second, when we talk about "technology" we're not talking about touchscreens and the usual communication of Apple CarPlay. The F-150 has game-changing technology for truck applications. We named its ProPower onboard generator our Technology of the Year for 2021, and now onboard scales and the Smart Hatch to End are our Technology of the Year for 2022. We explain them with links above and below.
For everything that makes a truck a truck, including the variety of off-road options that the new Raptor R brings, the F-150 delivers. Be sure to try the Ram and GM trucks, but definitely don't overlook this Ford.

What's new in 2023?
In addition to the significantly increased prices, there are other F-150 models for 2023. First, the Rattler, is a package that adds the XL trim level to a variety of FX4 upgrade packages. : Skid Plates, All Terrain Wheels, Off Road Shocks, Locking Dough and Hill Lowering. From the outside you can distinguish it by the unique combination of XL black plastic and bumpers combined with special badges and a tough combo. Second, there's the Raptor R, which adds a supercharged V8 to more or less the same Raptor chassis upgrade. You can read all about it in our first car review of the Raptor R. There's also an F-150 Heritage Edition that pays homage to the marque's history with special two-tone schemes. They are very slow.
